The Prayer that God Answers Abundantly (Ephesians 3:20)

Ephesians 3:20 ESV Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.
The Book of Ephesians is a letter that was written by the Apostle Paul to the Christians who lived in the city of Ephesus. In Ephesians 3:14–19, Paul wrote that he prayed to God for the Ephesian Christians, that they would know the love of Christ.
In verse 20, Paul expressed his confidence that God can answer his prayer abundantly. In context, the phrase “all that we ask or think” refers specifically to the things that Paul prayed for the Ephesian Christians in the previous verses. The “power at work within us” here is the “power” that was mentioned in verse 16. We need this power from God so that we can know the love of Christ.
It is difficult to know the love of Christ because it “surpasses knowledge” (v. 19). Yet, Ephesians 3:20 assures us that if we pray that God would give us the power to know Christ’s love, God is able to answer our prayer “far more abundantly” than we imagine!
